This is our third vinyl release in a row. This time we went for a different approach more or less a step back in time. Normally vinyl releases are a mixture of digital and analogue equipment but for this release we decided to go the analogue route all the way. So this one is dedicated to the Purists amongst you who are convinced that an LP should be analogue from start to finish.
We really wanted to go back in time so we decided to use a SABA 600 SH two-track recorder. Actually STS started out with this machine in the early days of the company. We got this recorder as a present from Jorg Wuttke. Technical Manager of Schoeps GmbH. We restored the 5ABA. from 1974 and brought it back to its original specifications. Everything was recorded in glorious stereo without dubs.
In 1963 and in l979 Marantz released two turntables; the 5LT-12 and the TTIOOO respectively. The SLT-12 featured a linear tracking arm. which was quite rare in those days and the TTIOOO was equipped with the Mklll version of the ubiquitous SM6 3009 tone arm. Both were regarded as top players This album The Perfection of Purity is a tribute to these turntables.

There is obviously a sneaky but very serious revival going on in high quality vinyl pressings hence the release of new budget and expensive turntables. Marantz is quite aware of this and has decided to put a new turntable on the market. This white beauty designated TT-15SI is beautifully and rightfully exposed on the front of this record sleeve.

From the Cutting Room:
This time Fritz came up with a total analo9ue ''wording and this meant rigging up the faithful Studier A80 disc-mastering recorder. After listening to the recording I decided it was obviously a good recording but regarding the age of the machine and speed used (7.5 inch/sec) it needed true mastering to get the best out of it A delicate touch of equalizing and a teeny weenie bit of compression did the job. I could feel musicality and emotion instead of a cold and analytical sound and this was essential to turn this into a great album. As far as I can tell it all worked out great.
